Basic Sketch

You still have time to enter Kiwi Lane's Basic Sketch challenge this week!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I didn't have to alter much on this one! I was a little worried about the gap of patterned paper on the left side, but the journaling lines with the title ended up working great:

I love sketches with journaling spots built in!! I have a hard enough time journaling; if there's not a specific spot for it, it's not going to happen!

I really like how my border turned out:

Any day I get to use my snowflake border punch with sparkly ribbon is a GOOD day!

Gardenia #7-#9

I'm catching up!

Here are Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo sketches #7, #8, and #9!!!

#7:

My 2-page version:

and close up:

Why is grey so hard to photograph?! This layout is really cute in person, you'll have to trust me! I cut the birds out of the background paper and glitter-glued over my letters so they matched.

#8:

My 2-page version:

 and close up:

Now this one is fuzzy! I am having a bad-photography day.. I outlined everything in grey marker and popped up all the stars. I also used some of the "period" dots from my letter Thickers as accents.

and #9:

My 2-page version:

and close up:

I love buying in packs and kits! Matching is a breeze and they always come with cute fluff! Like these sticker sayings and chipboard hearts.

Wish me luck finishing my last 3!!!

Gardenia #10

I didn't keep up very well, did I?

I still have plans to catch up by the time the BIG prize is offered...

plans...

I think there was an oops and there is no actual "sketch" for this week, so here is Scrapbook Steals' Mid-Week-Mojo example for Gardenia #10:

And here is my 2-page version:

I know, I know, ANOTHER Father's and Son's layout with my Paper Loft paper! I just want to FINISH a grouping of pictures for ONCE!!!

When I really want a title to match, I use some of the same "background" paper for the letters:

I just did some really light stamping and cut them out. Perfect match!

I still love all the little saying strips from my Paper Loft packet:

Fastest journaling ever!

November layout

Here is the layout my Close To My Heart scrapbooking group will be making this November:

We are using the Pathfinding Paper Packet, the Golden Bakers Twine, and the Gold Bling Dots. I like to try all different scrapbooking styles with my group, and this one I really enjoyed!

I  *may* have gone a little overboard with all the leaves...

Nah!

Happy Fall!!!

HAPPY (late) HALLOWEEN!

I LOVE Halloween! I do!

I do NOT love this 3-week-cold!

It may be time to give up and go to the doctor...

Anyway, here is the Kiwi Lane Basic Sketch that inspired my late Halloween card:

And here is my card:

I REALLY like it!!! I used some super old Close To My Heart paper and some new Close To My Heart stamps. I also tried out my alcohol markers for the first time:

I totally copied this from an AMAZING consultant whom I now stalk. She has tons of tutorials on how to color with these markers and make skulls-in-a-jar! Visit her blog HERE to be blown away.

After all my cute coloring I figured I just needed some dimension and it would be perfect:

Ta-da!

Seriously, go learn to color and then enter for yourself at Kiwi Lane's Facebook page!

Happy skulls!
