Here is the sketch:
And here is my sample:
I decided to skip the flower from the sketch and REALLY focus on butterflies! Luckily I really like butterflies and had *quite* a few choices for paper...
Kiwi Lane wanted to focus on all the fun ways you can use their awesome mini-border templates. I LOVE their mini-borders!!! All you have to do is stack them and it shows off your cute paper:
Your super shiny BUTTERFLY cute paper:
And of course I always like to pop up my layers for dimension:
Happy with this one!

KL Card Sketch #7
Happy Card Sketch Week!!!
Kiwi Lane has another fun card sketch challenge up on their blog!
Here is the sketch:
And just for fun I made 2 sample cards this time! Again!
Card #1:
Is it just me or are boy cards really hard?! Whenever I want to challenge myself with a masculine card, I reach for the Duct Tape! Or is it Duck Tape...?
Either way, that dull silver tape mixed with some splashes of paint make a pretty good boy card:
Card #2:
I am sooooooo done with the heat around here!!! So I made a sunshine card to try to cope!
Nothing fancy, just cute paper with cute stamps:
Go make your own and enter to WIN!

MWM Tulip #8
I'm baaaaaaaaaack!!!
Wow. Being Camp Director for Girls' Camp TOTALLY killed me. I got by on pure stubbornness and adrenaline... til I got home. Then I CRASHED!!
Long story short, I'm "better" now and decided to participate in Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo sketch Tulip #8!
Here is the sketch:
And here is my 2-page version:
Yes, I am a total nerd and took pictures of my kids eating pizza pie on March 14th this year because it was:
Get it?!
It was even accurate 2 extra digits this year!!!
Ok, so I'm a dork, but the page is still awesome!
I made a pi symbol out of my trusty Thickers and luckily had a bunch of duplicates so I could list pi out as far as my Ipad's calculator listed across the top of my page:
And just in case you need more of the story behind the Pi Day photos that are not developed yet (It's only June after all) here is my journaling:
I started to stamp it all... but bailed after I messed up at the very end of the first line and realized what a migraine I set myself up to get... so I just stamped the word "pie" for emphasis.
There is still a few more hours left to enter! Go HERE for all the details!

KL scrapbook sketch #4
Here is another chance to get a layout done and WIN from Kiwi Lane!
Visit their blog HERE for all the details.
Here is the sketch:
And here is my sample layout:
It's a baby layout! Even though my "baby" is almost 4... please tell me I'm not the only one hopelessly behind!!!
I took out a picture, added a journaling spot, and switched some flowers around; but not too many changes on this one!
Of course some Thickers for the title:
And my favorite Kiwi flowers:
And here is something new! Well, for me at least:
That little squiggle accenting the bottom of my photo is actually a CARD template! I love how it looks down there! Definitely have to do this again!
Make sure you get scrappin' and enter to win!

DT Doodles #10
Holy cow double digit DT Doodles already?!
Where is this year going?!?!
Anyway, here is Kiwi Lane's DT Doodle for the week:
And here is my attempt:
It worked out ok! ....but it's still super nerve wracking to attack an almost-completely-done layout with black ink...
The paper is perfect! It's little music notes:
It's also hard to see, so you may just have to trust me again!
Go visit Kiwi Lane on Facebook!

The pictures are my little girl and her two cousins playing the piano together. They are all within 4 months of each other, so it's extra cute!
I'm trying to get braver about stamping DIRECTLY onto a layout:

Kiwi Lane BLOG HOP!!!
Welcome to the last stop!
Holy cow I am SOOOOOO excited to be in another fabulous Kiwi Lane Blog Hop!!!
You should have come from Barb Rapp's blog HERE. If not, go back to Kiwi Lane's blog HERE to start the hop. You don't want to miss out on any of the awesomeness! Or a chance to win...
So for my part of the hop I was given (that's right, GIVEN) the CELEBRATE Accessory Set:
I decided since I now have a rather *extensive* Kiwi Lane collection, I would challenge myself to use ONLY this template set!
Here is the first layout I came up with:
The Celebrate set just seems so happy! I knew I wanted to use the shapes in different ways... Obviously the triangle would make a great party hat or ice cream cone, but how about a background?
I just traced and cut a bunch of triangles and made my own paper. I LOVE how the templates make good use of my paper!!! Less scraps I have to feel guilty about throwing away!
The triangle also makes an excellent sunshine! And the ice cream topping turns into perfect clouds! And of course I had to use the pinwheels as, well, pinwheels! Why mess with something that works, right?
Here is the second layout I came up with:
Celebrate also seemed a bit more masculine to me... So I decided I needed to do something girly! Like butterflies!
I just traced the big and little balloons and free-handed a body. Oooooo! I bet this would make great flower petals, too!
For the smaller butterflies I traced the balloons again and just cut inside my lines to make them tiny. You really can customize any template to meet your needs!
The triangle turned into pennants on this page. With another butterfly of course!
I'm sure after all those amazing blogs you hopped to you have TONS of great ideas using the featured templates for April! Make sure you comment on EACH blog, including Kiwi Lane's, for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Kiwi store. You have until Sunday April 6th at midnight to get all your comments in! The winner will be announced on the Kiwi Lane blog HERE on Thursday April 10th.
If you like what you see, feel free to follow my little blog! I would LOVE some more followers!!!
Good luck all and happy crafting!

DT Doodles #1
YAY!
Kiwi Lane's DT Doodle sketches are back!!!
They are changing it to only twice a month instead of every Monday, sad, but I'll take whatever "forced" inspiration I can get!
So here is the first sketch of the year:
And here is my adaptation:
Turns out I don't have very much school-and/or-reading-themed paper. I will have to fix that at the expo...
Yes, it's months away and I am excited already! Back off.
I stamped my title in different colors and decided it needed to stand out a bit more. So I coated it in my Close To My Heart liquid glass. Love that stuff!
And since it was already out, all the dots on the red patterned paper got Liquid Glass-ed too!
Be sure to visit HERE to see other layouts.
Happy My-Children-Are-Finally-Done-Puking Day!

Tomorrow!
One more day!!!
See?!:
I LOVE my countdown... and my new little tree... and basically Halloween in general!
So here is a bit more of my new-this-year Halloween decor:
The "Spooky" letters and my countdown were both done with Die Cuts With A View paper distressed in black ink.
You can't tell, but these bats are glittery. Trust me, it's awesome!
I know these don't necessarily scream Halloween... but they're witch shoes. Shoes! And if there's one thing I love more than Halloween, it's SHOES!!! The paper is Authentique's awesome new "Thriller" line.
Yes, everything but the tree is from The Wood Connection. Addicted.
HAPPY (day before) HALLOWEEN!!!

Not Good Enough
Sigh...
I've known I didn't make it for awhile, but it really hits home when I see all the ladies that did :(
Kiwi Lane posted their new design team HERE and I am not on it.
Sigh...
I keep reminding myself that I don't scrapbook to win awards. I don't scrapbook to be popular. And I certainly don't scrapbook just to get free product!
Oh, wait... yes I do...
Anyway, here are the projects I made to "try out" for the design team:
Another crazy box-pleated tulle layout! Still love this paper!
I used the bracket templates and a lot of scraps to make a rainbow card.
I set the actual slippers from the photos in front of me for inspiration for this layout. It turned out perfect!
Next year's refrigerator calendar.
LOTS of flowers! This one looked especially great with the photos of my wiggle little baby on it :)
Looking back it sucks that I didn't make the design team; but I love everything that I submitted, I got a lot of scrapbooking done, and I had some good "crafty me" time.
And that should be what matters!

SWEET layout
For some reason when I saw the Kiwi Lane Design Templates challenge sketch this week:
I immediately thought of "The Sweet Stack" paper from Die Cuts With a View. I still don't know why...
Anyway, I LOVED this sketch! Mostly because I actually own all the templates used for it! Yay! So here is my 2-page version using Close To My Heart stamps, the DCWV paper, and Kiwi Lane's Scallops, Cascade Trails, and Brackets templates:
As you can see, I am still psychologically unable to place anything crooked on my page. Even though the sketch looks so cute with skewed elements... nope! Can't do it!
Here I have pretty much copied exactly how the incredibly talented design team member used the circle for a circle-date stamp. Except her stamp was slightly different, so it's not REALLY copying now is it? ;)
Go HERE to see her page from the sketch and a bunch of other good ones.
I wanted the edge of my layout to be swirly to match the pattern in the paper, so I stamped instead of sewed. I also used cut-outs from the paper in place of the journaling spots.
Next time I print photos this layout will have pictures of my 2-year-old eating her Dad's ice-cream cake!
Thanks for stopping by!
