Another Kiwi Lane Challenge...

I know, I know, two Kiwi Lane Challenges in a row...

I'm so sucked in!

Here is the sketch:

Do you see the problem?

It's a one-pager!!!

I cannot think of a single time in my life I took so few photos of ANYTHING that they could fit on one page!

So I just stretched it:

I think it turned out really good! The photos that go on it are my kids playing outside in winter coats right after the ground has thawed...sort of... So the clouds and sunshine are perfect!

I had very limited time to make this layout (one almost-2-year-old nap) so I did end up using some alphabet stickers *gasp* and HAND JOURNALING *gasp and groan* with my horrendous handwriting!

It's ok though...

I still like it :)

Go HERE to see if anyone else used their dreaded alphabet stickers!

Kiwi Lane meets Close To My Heart

Well, we all knew eventually this day would happen.

My new obsession with Kiwi Lane has met my old obsession with Close To My Heart!

I am entering another sketch challenge:

...Using Close To My Heart paper and stamps! Here is what I came up with:

Sorry for the less-than-amazing photo and editing, but I only have 8 minutes!

Visit their site HERE to see everyone else's cute stuff!

Wish me luck!

April Layouts

Last Saturday was my fun scrapbook group!

This month we made two layouts using the Chantilly paper pack. Here is layout number one:

We used the matching Chantilly Textiles fabric to make really cute flowers and added a bit of bling with pink sparkles.

I LOVE this frame stamp set that coordinates perfectly with the Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge! It makes perfect journaling spots!

And here is layout number two:

Yes, it really is the same paper packet! We used mostly the "B sides" of the papers with some Dimensional Elements Hearts to make a St. Patrick's Day page... or just a lucky page... either way, 4 hearts together covered in green paper make excellent shamrocks!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Kiwi Lane Addiction

Yay! Photos on my blog!

Forever thank you to Tresa Black for answering my emails and teaching me to shrink my pictures! She is amazing, by the way, visit her blog HERE.

So! Kiwi Lane!

For some reason there is always a crowd around this booth and I always miss it at the expo... but I definitely found it this time!

I got SUCKED IN!!!

Kiwi Lane is amazing! They have these see-through templates for 12 inch borders, 8 inch borders, cards, photos, shapes, etc... And they use a concept they call "framing" to build scrapbook pages... just go visit their site HERE, they can explain it better than I can!

I admit, I was scared to use my few templates once I got home. What if I did it "wrong"? What if I ended up hating it? What if it made things super hard instead of easier?

And then I saw a sketch challenge at their blog...

It was a sign! And I would LOVE to win a $25 gift certificate...

So here is what I came up with:

Holy crap these templates are awesome!!! They are great to work with! The most time-consuming part of this page was choosing paper!

I used the Paisley Place 12 inch borders, Big Floral, Little Floral, and Little Wildflowers (might not be the actual names... but close) The sketch uses different templates, but the Kiwi Lane people are nice and let you adapt to fit what you have!

This giant flower is my favorite!

Check out the actual Kiwi Lane blog post HERE to see what everyone else did.

So now you know my newest scrapbook obsession! I love that it isn't brand-specific and doesn't rely on other tools. You literally need scissors, glue, and paper. Gosh I wonder if I have any paper... ;)

Good to be back!

Technical Difficulties...

So you may have noticed I haven't posted in... awhile...

Turns out my photos are HUGE and my free blog space is already used up. Yep. Who know you had a limited "free" space?!

Anyway, I think I have found a solution!

Look forward to an actual blog post with actual photos actually soon!
