I LOVE the Winter Template!!!

I wasn't quite sure which direction I wanted to go with this one... so I made two! Both my cards are 5x7 and greeting-less to make things more versatile.

Sample #1:

Believe it or not, this simple and elegant cardstock-only approach is a BIG challenge for me! I do really like how it turned out!

Just some inking and a bit of Liquid Pearls for embellishments:

Card #2:

Yep. VERY different approach here! I like this one, too!

I lined just the edges of my snowflake with Shimmer Trim so the card wasn't totally overwhelmed with glitter:

KL Card Sketch #2

I don't know about you guys, but I have piles of cards that I make too late to mail and wait "for next year" and next year never seems to come at a convienent time again so the pile grows and grows...

Just me?

Well Kiwi Lane has a great Valentine's Day card sketch with PLENTY of time to make and mail!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my sample card:

It is a 5x7 card using Close To My Heart paper, Kiwi Lane Sweetheart and Tiny Sweetheart templates, and a Fiskars scalloped circle punch.

To make a sparkly title I just stamped in light ink and traced over the letters with my trusty pink Glitz gel:

I traced my Sweetheart bracket shape along the bottom of the card to add interest when it's opened:

See that little strip of paper inside? It's a POCKET!!! I'm going to be super on the ball and put a Valentine's picture inside!

So not only mailed out in time, but with a PHOTO!!!

Right, I know, we'll see...

KL Card Sketch

After my post yesterday it occured to me that I never posted the FIRST Kiwi Lane sketch for this month...

Sorry!

You can no longer win, but you can always use a good card sketch, so here it is:

 I ended up with too many ideas, so I made 2 cards! 

This first one follows the sketch almost exactly:

I used Close To My Heart paper and stamps. I heat embossed the star and part of the sentiment. The gold glitter strips at the bottom are my favorite Glitter Tape. The whole card is quite sparkly, but it's hard to tell in the photo:

You kinda get the idea...

This next one I changed things up a bit:

I still used Close To My Heart paper and stamps, but this one had to be 5x7 to accommodate my favorite flower templates I wanted to use :) LOVE my flower templates!

Less sparkle, but more dimension on this one:

I like them both!

I know you are supposed to outgrow it, but I still love fireworks!

That being said, here is a slightly more grown-up card for the Heart 2 Heart Patriotism Challenge:

I really wanted this card clean and composed. All I used was the red Glitz Glitter Gel on the stars to add a little bling.

I love sponging in 2 different colors!
