Layout for April

Here is the layout my Close To My Heart scrapbook group will be making in April:

These colors really don't want to photograph well! It's all pinks, purples, and greens... you'll have to trust me!

We are using the Ivy Lane Paper Packet, Purple Shimmer Tape, and Purple Glitter Gems.

I used the awesome Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge to cut the "Spring" title and all the flowers.

And of course we are stamping the blank flowers for cuteness!

If you are in the Utah County, Utah area let me know if you'd like to join us!

DT Doodles #6

I just love sketches!

Especially sketches with a chance to win and a deadline!

I can't seem to scrapbook without a deadline...

So here is Kiwi Lane's DT Doodles #6:

And here is my slightly altered version:

Just know that this layout is aptly named and the pictures are SO GROSS!!! My baby (2 1/2 year old) smeared ketchup all over her cheeks like blush! I HATE ketchup, so it was extra revolting!

I was able to make perfect "splats" with my templates!

Visit Kiwi Lane HERE to learn all about their awesome templates, get tons of ideas, and enter the sketch challenges yourself.

Ketchup!!!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

I thought I would share a good last-minute craft for St. Patrick's Day:

A paper wreath!!!

Don't be scared! This really is super easy and surprisingly quick!

I was originally inspired by this wreath HERE. She has a great tutorial you can check out if my fast version doesn't work for you...

Supplies:
*cheap straw wreath with the plastic ON
*tons of cheap ribbon to wrap said wreath
*6 different patterns of scrapbook paper (2 sheets of each)
*paper cutter
*glue gun and extra glue sticks

Step One:
cover the ugly straw wreath with your ribbon. You really don't see any of the ribbon, but I picked a green color just to be safe!

Step Two:
cut a bazillion 1x6 inch strips of paper. I needed about 22 strips for my first row, 28 for the second, 33 for the third, 37 for the fourth, 40 for the fifth, and 42 for the sixth.

Step Three:
glue each paper strip together at the bottom, making sure not to crease your paper!

Step Four:
starting on the inside of your wrapped wreath frame, glue on the paper strips in a row.

Step Five:
glue on row two right behind row one. Things look kinda goony at this point... just keep going!

Step Six-Nine:
keep gluing on rows! It's up to you how smashed together you want things. I liked mine a bit more open.

Step Ten:
glue a loop on the back for hanging and Ta-Da!!!

You just made a cute paper St. Patrick's Day wreath in one sitting!!!

...or several sittings!

Whatever it takes to get crafty!

Basic Sketch #3

You know what would be cool?

If everyone could stop puking for like one month!

ONE MONTH!!!

Anyway, here is Kiwi Lane's Basic Sketch #3:

And here is my mostly finished version:

I say mostly finished because I am waiting for the recipe for this pie to be my journaling. That requires my Mom calling Grandma and then me again... so it's not a one-week process :)

Visit Kiwi Lane HERE to see other layouts!

Yay!

More midnight laundry!

DT Doodles #5

I am early this week!

It's waaaaaaay before Sunday night ;)

Here is Kiwi Lane's DT Doodle #5 sketch:

And here is my layout:

If you don't like sparkly stuff, now would be a good time to go to a different blog...

The pictures are my little boy helping my little girl get all her princess bracelets on.

Yes, all at once.

So I put pearls along the edge of one template, glitter gel along the other, and a sequin strip down the center!

The butterflies are sparkly gold with more glitter gel and rhinestones middles.

See? Sparkly!

I happen to LOVE sparkly stuff, so this definitely works for me!

Visit Kiwi Lane's blog HERE to see other, perhaps less sparkly, layouts :)

March Layout

Here is the layout my Close To My Heart scrapbooking group will be making this month:

I really like how this one turned out! I already even have pictures waiting :)

We will be using the Skylark Paper Packet, the matching Skylark Dimensional Elements, Aqua Enamel Dots, and Topiary Chevron Ribbon. I love when the Dimensional Elements have a perfect title and I don't have to use my brain!

Not much stamping on this one... just a bit of fussy ribbon-work!

If you are in the Utah County area and want to join, contact me! We have fun!

At least I have fun...

:)
