Tomorrow!

One more day!!!

See?!:

I LOVE my countdown... and my new little tree... and basically Halloween in general!

So here is a bit more of my new-this-year Halloween decor:

The "Spooky" letters and my countdown were both done with Die Cuts With A View paper distressed in black ink.

You can't tell, but these bats are glittery. Trust me, it's awesome!

I know these don't necessarily scream Halloween... but they're witch shoes. Shoes! And if there's one thing I love more than Halloween, it's SHOES!!! The paper is Authentique's awesome new "Thriller" line.

Yes, everything but the tree is from The Wood Connection. Addicted.

HAPPY (day before) HALLOWEEN!!!

DT Doodles #26

I just realized we are now EXACTLY at the 1/2 way point of 2013! (weeks wise) At the risk of sounding old, where did this year go? All the sudden I have a 2 year old, a 7 year old, and a tween going to girls camp?! Sigh...

I wasn't going to do the Kiwi Lane sketch this week due to busyness, totally a word by the way, but all my Authentique "Pride" paper left over from my wood decor binge was just sitting on the table calling me... so I gave in!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

It's funny, the Kiwi Lane designer used this paper pack, too! Go HERE to see.

Quick close up of my title:

I used some really old Close To My Heart stamps masked off to get different colors of ink. The Kiwi Lane templates are Abbie Road and Happy Trails. A few brads and some bakers twine and ta-da! I made a layout in one day! The pictures are glued on and the whole finished thing is IN MY ALBUM already!

Huzzah for sketches!

-I had to add the huzzah because my husband made fun of me for saying that word just yesterday-

so HUZZAH!

Last Minute Patriotism!

I finished yesterday!

I am so proud!

I realized awhile back that I had a grand total of *one* 4th of July decoration. Woo Hoo. So of course I went to the Wood Connection and fixed that problem!

But then it was June 30th and I had a patriotic pile of unfinished wood...

So I've been a little busy ;)

Here are my flags-on-a-stick:

And my fireworks:

And my flag:

This is how everything was finished:

I painted, glued paper, sanded the heck out of the edges, inked, and covered the entire finished product with Mod Podge so it's relatively kid-proof.

Kind-of.

And here is my USA:

I finished this one a little different:

I still painted, sanded, inked, etc... But I tore and inked strips of paper and glued them on separately for some texture. It was a bit more complicated and took some time, but I think it looks awesome!

I used the Authentique "Pride" paper line for everything so it coordinates. I don't have the largest decorate-able area, so it looks nicer when all my smashed together decor matches!

Plus I love that paper.

Happy July 4th!
