DT Doodles #20

Back with another Kiwi Lane layout!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my version:

I used SUPER old Die Cuts With A View paper (the Butterflies and Blossoms stack) mixed with a little Close To My Heart yellow polka-dot from last year... so all old paper... and flowers I've had for years...

I was going to say that sounded sad, but it actually feels great to use some of my gigantic stash! I've finally convinced myself that it's ok to use the pretty "special" paper. What better way to save it forever than on a scrapbook page?!

I need the Kiwi Lane little brackets set. Yes, NEED. I have to make do with my stamps, which are cute, but an actual coordinating set would be better!

Hope you enjoyed my layout!

For Torri

The nice thing about only having 11 followers is that it is super easy to grant requests!

Torri (hi Torri!) wanted to see the layout my scrapbook group made with the CTMH Buzz and Bumble paper packet back in March when my blog was broken...

So here it is:

*All the pictures should get bigger if you click on them*

We used the Buzz and Bumble horrid bee packet (I HATE bees), but only the bee-less sides of the papers :)   We embellished with the Antique Gold Mini Medley Accents, burlap ribbon,  and made our own flowers out of bakers twine!

Normally I am not a huge "trendy" scrapbooker, but I couldn't resist the hexagon-honeycomb thing. I guess we could say it was my nod to the good bees... as if they exist!

All the titles were cut out with my CTMH cricut cartridge and masked-stamped to get the multiple colors.

Hope you like it Torri!

Let me know if there are any other requests!

May Layouts

I LOVE the For Always paper!

Luckily, it turned out that my Close To My Heart scrapbook group loved it, too! So we are doing a workshop instead of a single layout.

Some of my photos aren't too great, so click on them to see the blurry-ness a little bigger!

Layout #3:

Layout #4:

Layout #5:

Most of the layouts are HEAVILY inspired (ok, flat-out copied in some cases) by layouts I have purchased from Amber Packer over the years. Visit her blog HERE and you will understand...

We are using the For Always paper, silver Glitz Glitter Gel, black and grey Sparkles, Rosette Ribbon, black Shimmer Ribbon, and a bazillion stamped flowers from the CTMH Cricut cartridges!

I really like how they all turned out :)

I plan on putting my still-not-scrapped wedding photos on them... it's only been 10 years...

*sigh*

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I made three of these cards:

One for my mom, one for my mother-in-law, and one for me. Then I handed it to my kids and commanded them to write nice things in it and give it back to me!

If you want something done...

The paper and stamps are all Close To My Heart and the templates are Kiwi Lane. To see other Kiwi Lane Mother's Day cards, try HERE.

SWEET layout

For some reason when I saw the Kiwi Lane Design Templates challenge sketch this week:

I immediately thought of "The Sweet Stack" paper from Die Cuts With a View. I still don't know why...

Anyway, I LOVED this sketch! Mostly because I actually own all the templates used for it! Yay! So here is my 2-page version using Close To My Heart stamps, the DCWV paper, and Kiwi Lane's Scallops, Cascade Trails, and Brackets templates:

As you can see, I am still psychologically unable to place anything crooked on my page. Even though the sketch looks so cute with skewed elements... nope! Can't do it!

Here I have pretty much copied exactly how the incredibly talented design team member used the circle for a  circle-date stamp. Except her stamp was slightly different, so it's not REALLY copying now is it? ;)

Go HERE to see her page from the sketch and a bunch of other good ones.

I wanted the edge of my layout to be swirly to match the pattern in the paper, so I stamped instead of sewed. I also used cut-outs from the paper in place of the journaling spots.

Next time I print photos this layout will have pictures of my 2-year-old eating her Dad's ice-cream cake!

Thanks for stopping by!

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!!!

In honor of National Scrapbooking Day, Kiwi Lane has issued 5 different today-only challenges on their blog. Check it out HERE to participate... quickly...

I planned to enter 3 three of them.

My just-turned-two-year-old decided this evening was a good time to cover her mother in puke.

So plans changed.

I am entering Challenge #3 The Creative Card Challenge: create a card using Kiwi Lane Designs Templates, stamps, and ribbon. Gosh I wonder if I have any stamps... ;)

Here is my card:

Close To My Heart paper, stamps, and ribbon meet Kiwi Lane card templates!

Pretty big fan of this butterfly! I just cut the top one slightly smaller and folded up the wings for dimension.

I love this butterfly quote! So happy I have it in stamp form... twice!

Hope your night is puke-free!

Kiwi Lane Time Again!

Not quite the last minute, but getting close!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

One of the fabulous Kiwi Lane designers did a really cute 4th of July layout awhile back... and so I needed to do my own!

It's hard to see, but the letters and stars are glittered. Hmmm... You'll just have to trust me:

As of now, I am the ONLY entry (I might actually win!), but check HERE after midnight to see all the other last-minute-ers!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

NOT a layout!

Surprise!!!

This post is NOT a layout!

Shocking, I know...

So in March I lived at The Wood Connection. Every. Single. Day.

Ok, not EVERY day, but close! Since it was National Papercrafting Month, they had different sales each day, prizes, and make-and-takes.

Here was the cutest make-and-take:

Wait! Not the tree in the background, the BIRDS!

I just thought it was funny that mine ended up matching my "Spring Cone" (it's totally a tree) perfectly!

If you would like to become addicted to wooden crafts, visit their blog HERE

They ship now...

I warned you!
