KL Card Sketch

Oops!

After my post yesterday it occured to me that I never posted the FIRST Kiwi Lane sketch for this month...

Sorry!

You can no longer win, but you can always use a good card sketch, so here it is:

I ended up with too many ideas, so I made 2 cards!

This first one follows the sketch almost exactly:

I used Close To My Heart paper and stamps. I heat embossed the star and part of the sentiment. The gold glitter strips at the bottom are my favorite Glitter Tape. The whole card is quite sparkly, but it's hard to tell in the photo:

You kinda get the idea...

This next one I changed things up a bit:

I still used Close To My Heart paper and stamps, but this one had to be 5x7 to accommodate my favorite flower templates I wanted to use :) LOVE my flower templates!

Less sparkle, but more dimension on this one:

I like them both!

Stay tuned for another awesome Kiwi Lane card sketch in a little bit... I promise I'll post it on time so you can win!

KL Scrapbook Sketch

JUST KIDDING!!!

December was NOT my last Kiwi Lane ANYTHING!!

I was invited to stay on a few more months to be the official "sketch lady"! Or "sketchy lady" if you want to giggle... ;)

Kiwi Lane will now be doing 2 sketches a month. That means 2 chances to win each month! Go HERE to see all the details about how to enter this weeks contest and to see my layout on the Kiwi Lane blog!

Here is the sketch:

and here is my layout:

I used Close To My Heart paper for the background (gotta love the bulk paper) and Imaginesce paper for all the rest.

My Imaginesce paper pad had a sheet of journaling cards that I never quite know what to do with, but they're so cute I want to use them... so I cut one in half! I put the top part with the sentiment on the bottom by my date:

And the bottom part with the journal lines on the top by my title:

Cute and functional!

Of course I popped up my tags and flowers:

I used some ...shall we say VINTAGE... spiral clips and nail heads for my flower centers. I really liked the look! I might have to journey to the very back of my stash more often!

Thanks for looking, go make your own

Petunia #7

Here I go again!

I love the weekly Mid Week Mojo sketches at ScrapbookSteals... I just rarely get them done in the week they come out...

But I did this week!

Here is sketch Petunia #7:

and here is my 2 page version:

I have no idea what paper this is, it's SO OLD!!! This layout came together really quickly for me. I love sketches!

I also really like this "arrow" idea:

It draws your attention right to the title AND it's cute. Win/win!

I forgot how much fun this was:

Remember direct-to-paper inking?! Just swiping your stamp pad all over instead of dabbing with a sponge?! Well it's still fast and fun! So you can see the difference, the orange paper is swiped and the green paper is sponged. Love the contrast!

Make sure you visit ScrapbookSteals blog HERE every Wednesday for a new great sketch.

Go make your own!

January Layout

Here is the layout my Close To My Heart scrapbook group will be making in January:

We are using the Snowhaven Paper Packet, the White Enamel Stars, and the White Shimmer Trim that I am TOTALLY addicted to and now own in every color...

I doodled around all the edges instead of inking. I thought it went better with the snowflakes and alphabet I chose to use.

I colored in my snowflakes with CTMH's awesome new alcohol markers. I forgot how much fun it is just to color!

Happy Snow!!!

Sadness.

I get to be the LAST Design Team Fall 2014 Member on the Kiwi Lane blog, which is happy, but now my term is officially over, which is DEVASTATING!

I have had so much fun!

Go HERE to view the post and to enter the sketch challenge!

So here is the special Christmas Sketch:

And here is my New Years sample:

I wanted to turn the Christmas poinsettia shape into a sparkly firework... but I didn't have any silver glitter paper... so I made my own silver glitter paper with silver glitter tape!

Wanna know how to turn your Christmas poinsettia into a firework? Of course you do!

Trace and cut out your big poinsettia shape:

Cut into the petals and SAVE THE CUT OUT PIECES!

Repeat until you have something like this:

Then just do the same process with your little poinsettia shape and layer!

For this big one I used up all my little left-over slivers!

Remember to enter the contest HERE to win your own Kiwi Lane Christmas Template set!

I WILL MISS YOU KIWI LANE!!!
